For Patients

Dr Lauren Beswick is one of seven gastroenterologists practising from the Geelong Gastroenterology Specialist Consulting Rooms.  His rooms are routinely open Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 6.00pm.

If for any reason you are unable to attend an appointment, please notify the practice as soon as possible.  A cancellation fee may apply when notice of cancellation is given less than 24 hours prior to the appointment.

Emergency weekend cover is shared between all seven gastroenterologists.

Please note that if you require admission to Geelong Hospital as a public patient, doctors other than Dr Beswick (including hospital staff) will be involved in your care and management.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding any aspect of this practice, please do not hesitate to speak to Dr Beswick or her staff.

All patients attending for consultation or endoscopy must have a referral from their general practitioner or another referring doctor.  Patients are encouraged to forward their referral to Dr Beswicks’s office at the earliest possible date, including any results of investigations that may have been performed.

Consultation Fees:

Patients will be informed of consultation fees at the time of booking an appointment and will also be provided with written information in advance of attending for a consultation (time permitting). Medicare rebates apply to all consultation fees and generally cover between 65 -75% of the fee charged.  Fees are reduced for pensioner card holders. There are no additional fees for Department of Veterans Affairs gold card holders.  Full fees are payable on the day of consultation.  Cheque, credit card and EFTPOS facilities are available.

Private Endoscopy Fees:

Privately insured patients:  Fees relating to endoscopic procedures are charged directly to patients’ private health insurance funds and patients will not be charged a gap by Dr Beswick.

Uninsured patients:  Patients without private health insurance who elect to have procedures privately with Dr Beswick will be provided with details regarding likely out-of-pocket expenses prior to booking those procedures.

What to bring to your appointment
