Dr Sumaya Al-ukaidey

About

Dr Al-ukaidey is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist. She is a local of the Surf Coast region and has trained at the University Hospital Geelong, the Liver Transplant Unit at Austin Health in Melbourne and the prestigious Royal Free Sheila Sherlock Liver Centre in London, UK.

Dr Al-ukaidey has a special interest in liver diseases but also consults on a broad range of gastroenterological issues such as inflammatory bowel disease, functional gut disorders, colorectal cancer prevention, GORD and Coeliac disease. She holds Gastroenterological Society of Australia Accreditation in therapeutic and diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr Al-ukaidey is passionate about providing a high standard of care and compassion to her patients. She believes that a holistic approach is best and that patients should always be actively involved in decision making regarding their care.

Dr Al-ukaidey has a gastroenterology public appointment at University Hospital Geelong and admitting rights there as well as at St John of God Hospital, Geelong and Epworth Hospital, Geelong.
