Please buy from the chemist: Prep Kit C. This kit will contain two small sachets called PICOPREP and one large sachet called GLYCOPREP C.
Individual responses to laxatives do vary. This preparation will cause multiple bowel movements and often works within thirty (30) minutes but may take as long as three (3) hours to begin to work. Please remain within easy reach of toilet facilities.
Usual medications should be taken. If you are taking blood thinning medication or diabetes medication consult your doctor for additional instruction before beginning this procedure.
FOR FIVE (5) DAYS PRIOR TO COLONOSCOPY, AVOID MULTIGRAIN BREAD, MUESLI AND OTHER FOOD PRODUCTS WITH SEEDS.
DAY BEFORE COLONOSCOPY:
You may have a light breakfast (ie white toast, cereal (without whole grains or seeds), tea, coffee
Drink only “clear liquids” for remainder of the day
Solid foods, milk or milk products are NOT allowed.
CLEAR FLUIDS INCLUDE:
Strained fruit juices without pulp (apple, white grape, orange).
Water or ice
Clear broth or Bonox.
Coffee or tea (without milk or non-dairy creamer)
All of the following that are not red or purple.
Staminade or carbonated & non-carbonated soft drinks
Fruit flavoured cordials or plain jelly
AT 3.00PM AND 6.00PM
Dissolve one (1) sachet of PICOPREP in a glass of warm water and drink
After each sachet, drink at least 1½ litres of clear fluid over the next 2 hours.
DAY OF COLONOSCOPY:
AT ………….. AM
Mix GLYCOPREP with 1 litre of refrigerated water.
Drink the GLYCOPREP mixture slowly over 60 to 90 minutes
Additional clear fluids may be consumed if desired
DRINK NO FURTHER LIQUID AFTER ………….. AM
HOSPITAL ARRIVAL TIME (approx.) :

YOU WILL BE READY FOR DISCHARGE APPROXIMATELY 3-4 HOURS POST ARRIVAL.
