Dr Alvin Ting MBBS, BMedSci, FRACP

Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist

Dr Alvin Ting is a Consultant Gastroenterologist who joined the Geelong Gastroenterology Group in 2017. He practices at St John of God Hospital, University Hospital Geelong and Epworth Geelong. In addition, he is a senior clinical lecturer at Deakin University.

Dr Ting practises evidence-based medicine and aims to provide patients with safe, comprehensive and up-to-date state of the art medical care within the field of gastroenterology and interventional endoscopy. His primary interests are in interventional endoscopy relating to pancreaticobiliary diseases.

Dr Ting completed medical school at The University of Melbourne in 2006 before commencing internship in Geelong Hospital. He completed advanced training in Gastroenterology through Barwon Health and Monash Health. Subsequently, he undertook Interventional Endoscopy training in Vancouver General Hospital and St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver BC, Canada.

Dr Ting provides consultations at St John of God Specialist Centre. Procedures are provided in a variety of locations across Geelong. He is accredited by the Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE) and provides the following diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures:

  • Gastroscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
  • EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound)
