Each Geelong Gastroenterology Consultant provides individualised, expert care in a range of gastrointestinal disorders. Areas of expertise include colorectal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic liver diseases.
Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures undertaken include Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound and Capsule Endoscopy. A Rapid Access Endoscopy Service is available.
In-patient care is provided to patients at St John of God Hospital, the Epworth Hospital and the University Hospital Geelong. All hospitals have state of the art modern facilities.
Gastroenterologists at Geelong Gastroenterology are all experienced senior consultants appointed to The University Hospital Gastroenterology Unit. They are all senior clinical lecturers at Deakin University Medical School and are actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as in clinical research.
